Free Webinar: Intrafamilial Child Torture- Victim Impact and Professional Interventions

On October 21, 2022, the Institute for Human Services and the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) hosted Miller's final ICT lecture of 2022, titled "Intrafamilial Child Torture: Victim Impact and Professional Intervention." This webinar discussed the devastating impact of torture by one's parents during childhood, and the types of protective, caretaking, and therapeutic interventions that can help child survivors. Miller examined the bio-psycho-social-spiritual (holistic) impact of torture on a young child's brain, using a developmental, neurosequential perspective. Specific treatment programs and methods were recommended that have been proven effective with severe child abuse survivors, and have shown promise in the clinical treatment of ICT child survivors. This is the last chance to see Miller speak until her 2023 speaking schedule is released.
